Interested in WAVE Swimming?

The New Wave Swim Team program is broken down into six different levels based on skill level and age. In order for our staff to properly place your child into the appropriate group we need to evaluate your swimmers skill level. Depending on their previous experience we will evaluate their strokes and/or fitness level, each evaluation will take approximately 10 minutes. All of our scheduled evaluations have passed now but if you are interested in joining WAVE please call or email us to schedule an evaluation for one of our three locations at TAC(Cary), Optimist(North Raleigh) or Granite Falls(Rolesville). Thank you for your interest in WAVE Swimming, we have had a TREMENDOUS response this summer!

3rd PLACE!!!!!!!

60 WAVE Swimmers traveled to Charlotte July 15-18, 2010 to compete in the North Carolina 14yr and under Long Course Age Group Championships and came up big in every sense of the word. After such a spectacular short course championship meet back in February and claiming 3rd,  this was going to be hard to match but our WAVE swimmers stepped up and showed their toughness both mentally and physically not giving in on any races to get their hands on the wall first.

WAVE Swimmers walked away with:

-3rd place combined finish, 2nd amongst Triangle area teams

-2nd place girls finish

-5th place boys finish

-10 & under girls high point champion

-3 individual state champions

-2 relay champions

-12 new team records

The coaching staff and your parents would like to congratulate these WAVE swimmers for doing such a FANTASTIC job!

WAVE Silly for Silly Bandz!

In a hot steamy Fathers Day weekend at the Optimist Park Pool in Raleigh our very own WAVE swimmers were feeling very cool swimming “lights out” to earn Silly Bandz for every great swim they had. The kids, both older and younger had a great time picking through the Silly Bandz after each swim with varying themes.

WAVE swimmers had 98% best times, THAT IS TREMENDOUS! We also had eight new “A” times, sixteen new “BB” and twenty new “B” times. WAVE swimmers were dominant throughout the weekend winning heat after heat and regularly seeing the WAVE caps out in the lead.

All of the WAVE swimmers showed tremendous excitement for their teammates, cheering for them on the side of the pool and at the end of their lanes.  Way to go WAVE swimmers, both your coaches and parents are so proud of your accomplishments!

Storming the Hill!

Meet Near the Hill Recap

By Jeff Pishko

Up against some of the toughest competition that our swimmers have faced since the championship meets of the short course season WAVE Swimmers came away with a “ton” of best times! Although it was a marathon meet with prelims and finals for the older kids and the younger kids in the afternoon session, our WAVE swimmers had the opportunity to compete against a number of great teams coming down from Virginia that our swimmers don’t swim against very often.

We should all be proud that our WAVE swimmers really stepped up and competed at a very high level walking away with a number of event champions. The highlight of the meet was from our very own WAVE swimmer, Sean Yeh, setting a new NC State Record in the 13-14 boys 100m Breaststroke. This swim also ranks 43 rd all time in USA Swimming for 13-14 boys 100m Breaststroke. Congratulations Sean and congratulations to all of our swimmers for a great weekend!
