WAVE
Squads Up @ Granite Falls
December
19-20 - Parents and swimmers alike
battled the treacherous North Carolina Winter weather to descend
upon Granite Falls for two days of intrasquad competition. 12 & Unders from all
sites squared off against each other to swim for the coveted little
ducks. Each heat
winner received a duck ranging from a doctor duck to an indian
duck. You can imagine
the intensity of these races to score one of these cherished little
duckies.
Events were split up into 8 & Under and 9-12
year olds. Everyone in
attendance witnessed countless best times and new time standards
achieved. Swimmers
seemed to be shaving days off of their best times which is a
testament to how hard WAVE’s youngest members have been
working this season.
A BIG thank you to all volunteers that helped make another
intrasquad meet such a success. There were many timers, judges,
officials, computer operators, etc that put in a lot of effort to
make this meet run as well as it did. We look forward to hosting many
more intrasquad meets at WAVE’s newest facility and the
swimmer’s will definitely look forward to their quest for
little duckies.
